Ganesh Chaturthi

Diwali

It is celebrated in honor of Lord Rama who brought back his wife from Lanka and returned to their kingdom of Ayodhya. The event falls on the month of October or November. Holi

The Holi is an interesting festival celebrated for the destruction of demons from their bad activities. It is a festival of multi colors and it is highly dedicated to the Lord Vishnu. The event is also called as the “festival of colors” and it falls on the month of March the day after the full moon. It is mostly celebrated on the eastern state of India, West Bengal. During this occasion people spent their days by smearing colorful powders over each other faces and body.


Navaratri

  The festival is dedicated to the Goddess Maa Durga. The name Navaratri means the festival of nine nights. It is well celebrated in almost all regions of the country. The festival has its different names like in Buddhism it is known as Vesak and in eastern India is called as Durga puja. It is a celebration of social theatrical event, drama, music, cultural display and many more others. The tenth day of the festival is called Dussehera.



Kumbha Mela

  It is one of the most popular and important pilgrimage of Hindu religion. The Mela is known to be the world’s largest religious gatherings and it is celebrated in various rivers of India named as the holy Ganga, Saraswati and Yamuna. It occurs four times in twelve year and the festival dates back to the early times of the God, Goddess and the Demons. It has a long story which stretches to more than thousands of year ago. All the devotees make their pilgrim to the holy rivers and take bath as it is said that by bathing on the River one becomes free from all the worries and all the problems will be vanish for forever.
